The Professional League of Spanish Football (LFP) has confirmed their stance on Getafe player Pedro León, reiterating that the club will field an invalid line-up if the player from Murcia is selected for any game, which would therefore result in “disciplinary action”.
“The LFP made a statement on the 18th of September, having looked into Getafe's fielding of the unregistered player Pedro León,” they said in a statement on Sunday.
Therefore, the organisation indicated that "Getafe are aware that the player does not have the correct registration documents, as set out in article 7 of the Spanish Sporting Federations Royal Decree”.
Moreover, the statement asserted that "the Upper Sporting Council (CSD) took the case to the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), calling on them not to give out pro football licences without the LFP documentation being in place".
Consequently, if the player is fielded then it will result in a “very serious breach of the LFP statutes”, for which the club will suffer “disciplinary action”.
