Eibar’s, Javi Lara analysed the weekend’s game in today’s press conference and commented that no matter how complicated the fixture may be, he’d rather play at grounds such as Barca´s stadium rather than “Segunda B grounds with 100 people in the stands”. He added that as special as it might be playing at grounds like the Camp Nou, what really is motivating is “coming in every day to train with a Primera Division club” and being able to play the likes of Barca and the rest of La Liga clubs, is “the dream of every footballer”.
The Anduluz player added that “what’s important” on Saturday is not being the first to score against Barcelona all season, but “securing a point at least”. We’ll go and scrap for points everywhere. If you score and it doesn’t contribute to securing points, it counts for nothing. The important thing is to get points, irrespective if that comes from not scoring or the opposition scoring an own-goal”.
Lara hoped that Eibar had a “good day and Barça a bad one to pull off a shock result. We’ll play our game our way whilst respecting the opposition. To date we’ve put on a decent display in each game, with intensity and trying to play football, but we’re conscious of the fact that there will be times when we’ll be under pressure”.
He added that Luis Enrique’s team “had recovered the ability to pressurize when not on the ball and evoked that Barça of the Guardiola era. They remind me of the great Barça side from a few years ago that we all remember”.
