Matchday 8 in the Segunda

This week’s action in the Segunda has a few talking points: Real Zaragoza are in eighth place in the league but are close to being shut down by the taxman who is pushing to liquidate the club in the pursuit of unpaid taxes - it remains to be seen how the situation affects the players as they face Racing (15th) at home on Saturday.

Leganés were promoted last year and this weekend host Betis, who dropped down from the Primera last year. Eight places and five points separate them in the league, with Betis in 7th and Leganés in 14th.

The opening match of the weekend, Valladolid – Ponferradina, sees second take on fifth, with both sides having the chance to go top if they win.
