"Valencia want to renew my contract and so do I"

Paco Alcácer spoke to reporters ahead of Valencia's short trip to Villarreal this weekend.

Negredo availability: "I'll treat it in the same was I always have. I have gone three games without scoring and I can't get obsessed by it. Negredo is a teammate and if he plays I have to support him. We are a team and we have to think about Valencia first."

Villarreal derby: "Any player who hasn't played in this derby will have played in others. We have to see it as just another game."

Contract: "Both parties have the same desire. I am concentrating on playing. Valencia want to [renew Alcácer's deal] and so do I and my family. But there is no rush and I am very clear in my mind."

Gesture after Elche subbing: "When a forward doesn't score he goes home angry. I am very demanding of myself and the chances I had I wasn't able to put away. But the most important thing is that the team wins. That's what happened on Saturday when I was taken off. It wasn't any kind of gesture to the manager."

Having more to prove as a youth product: "If that was the case maybe I wouldn't even be in the team now. Goals are a question of streaks."

Away matches: "You go out differently for every game. In Mestalla the fans give an extra boost and away from home it's a cooler reception but we have to get used to that and pick up more points."

Four assists: "The team comes first. And if there another player in a better position than me to score I'm going to pass. I think everybody would do the same."

Title chances: "Villarreal and any side that picks up wins will be up there. But we are just concerned with ourselves."

Parejo injury: "Dani is our captain and a key player. He is angry and upset because an injury right now is difficult to take."

º"It's been a long time since I've seen it so even. But we have to worry about getting the spark back that we had at the start of the league."
