Simeone calls up the same 20 for Olympiacos match

Diego Simeone, Atlético’s coach, called up the same 20 players who were in the squad for the Real Madrid game (1-2 victory for Atleti in the Bernabéu) for this Tuesday’s Champions League tie against Olympiacos. Of the first team players only Cristian ‘Cebolla’ Rodríguez misses out, as he is still recovering from a muscle strain.

The side trained this morning after their historic win last night in the Bernabéu, with their 1-2 win being the first time they've won consecutive league fixtures at their rival’s ground. After the training session Simeone announced the squad for the trip to Athens.

Atleti, who were within seconds of winning last year’s Champions League, until Ramos scored a header deep into injury time to take the match to extra-time where Madrid claimed the trophy, are unbeaten so far this season, with three wins and two draws from the Supercopa and the League.

The squad is as follows:

Keepers: Miguel Angel Moyá and Jan Oblak

Defenders: Juanfran Torres, Jesús Gámez, Joao Miranda, Diego Godín, José María Giménez, Guilherme Siqueira and Cristian Ansaldi

Midfielders: Tiago Mendes, Gabi Fernández, Mario Suárez, Raúl García, Arda Turan, Saúl Ñíguez, Koke Resurrección and Alessio Cerci

Strikers: Antoine Griezmann, Raúl Jiménez and Mario Mandzukic.
