Cristiano Ronaldo did not finish Portugal’s friendly match against France on Saturday night. The Real Madrid star was substituted after 75 minutes and immediately put ice on his left knee, the same one that has given him some problems recently because of tendinitis.
Cristiano first felt pain in his knee in April but decided to continue playing to help his team to the Champions League and after to help Portugal in the World Cup in Brazil. After the pre-season he did specific work to recover from this tendinitis. This season he was rested for Madrid’s match at Real Sociedad and also missed Portugal’s international match days later against Albania.
Following last night’s match Ronaldo gave an update on his knee in a press conference in Paris today. “It’s a completely normal situation, it was just a precaution. After the match it was better to put ice on it”.
