Visibly moved after his four-goal haul in Singapore during Brazil’s win against Japan, Neymar, 22, said that he does not know how many goals he will end up scoring for the Selecao.
“I don’t know what my limit will be,” said the 22-year-old forward, who admitted that his performance on Tuesday exceeded his expectations.
“It makes my hairs stand on end. It is a great feeling, an immense happiness to realise this dream. I did not even imagine this in my wildest dreams. I feel very happy and I give thanks to God.”
The former Santos man also praised Brazil coach Carlos Dunga: “He told us that the best way to show respect for your opponent is to do everything you can to defeat them. And we did it.
“I looked to score more goals but not for individual glory - I wanted to help my team-mates and the Brazilian team.”
