"This shows there are teams equal to or better than us"

"There wasn't a lot in it. We started well. Later we conceded and they created chances. Before that we could have made it 2-0 but we didn't. Madrid won deservedly," said Barcelona coach Luis Enrique after his side lost 3-1 in the Bernabéu.

Loss of heart: "I don't think it was a case of losing heart. We stopped creating chances and that cost us because of the opponent. The second goal came from a set piece and 3-1 from a clear mistake. They did us a lot of damage."

Doubts over Barça's style: "Defeats rarely strengthen a team. This shows that there are other teams equal to or better than us. As Real were today. We have to work on a few things because they can beat you clearly."

Luis Suárez: "I do not regret starting him. He did more than I hoped for. He was in good shape and played with tempo. We took him off because of the issue of fitness. I expected a different kind of match, and not one in which we were so unconvincing in defence. We have to straighten this out because otherwise it will cost us, as it did today."

Losses to PSG and Real: "Let the judgement come at the end of the season. Against PSG we deserved more. This was different. Madrid deserved it more."

Piqué penalty: "Who doesn't slip over? It was a clear penalty and that's that. It has nothing to do with his experience."

Superior Madrid: "Losses are part of the learning curve. I hope that as a result of this defeat we cut down on errors. We have to talk about it as a team. At the end of the season we'll see if we deserve anything."

Mistakes: "The second goal holds you back and you have to go about the game in a different way. In the first half we played a controlled game and we created chances. After we went 2-1 down we were left open and the third goal finished us off. After that there wasn't much we could do except try to score to create some hope."
