Jesé to return against Cornellà

Jesé will play tomorrow night, at least for a few minutes in the second half against Cornellà in the Spanish cup. It will be the first time he plays first team football again at the Bernabéu, precisely eight months and 15 days after suffering cruciate ligament injury against Schalke 04 on March 18th.

After Saturday’s game in Málaga, Madrid coach, Ancelotti was being prudent on a return to action for the young player: “It depends on him and how he feels. It is a personal decision. He certainly won’t start and may get minutes from the sub’s bench”. According to AS sources, Jesé or Jey M. (his new musical alias) is feeling fit and is keen to play against Cornellà. Nothing is definitive for the moment and an unexpected relapse would mean a change of plan and delay his re-appearance to the Champions League game against Ludogorets on December 9th.

Jesé has been working hard on regaining match fitness after his tangle with Schalke player, Kolasinac and the club’s medical staff want to ensure that there is no unnecessary haste in having him play again. Jesé was operated on initially in March and then a few weeks later after the knee became infected. This has been a factor in the long absence away from first –team football.
