Diego Alves to miss Espanyol cup clash with sprained knee

Valencia goalkeeper Diego Alves suffered a sprained knee in Sunday’s victory against Real Madrid. The damage was done when he challenged for the ball in the air with Gareth Bale. He underwent tests on Monday morning.

The goalkeeper will definitely miss Tuesday night’s Copa del Rey match against Espanyol. However, he is aiming to return for Saturday’s match against Celta Vigo at Balaídos.
