"Fernando, please, make it two goals against Madrid in the cup"

The passion for Fernando Torres has not decayed. El Niño, as the striker is affectionately known, stayed at the club’s Majadahonda training base for over 45 minutes to sign autograpghs for the gathered fans. A nice day and the Christmas holidays saw many youngsters go and watch the team train. Torres patiently signed autographs for over 250 fans.


The Atleti security staff allowed fans to pass one by one to get their photographs and autographs. “He has a lot of patience,” said many fans. Others asking him to help defeat Real Madrid in the Copa del Rey on Wednesday: “Make it two goals against Madrid, Fernando,” said one supporter. Torres even had hias picture taken with the Civil Guards who had to attend the Atleti training base to help with traffic issues. Later, Torres was pictured with players from the club’s youth ranks. Nobody wanted to miss out on welcoming Atleti’s latest signing.
