Fernando Torres attended the Vicente Calderón to see Atlético Madrid’s first match of 2015. The striker could not play yet as the transfer has not fully gone through but he decided to watch his new colleagues from the executive seats alongside Rafa Alique, the director of communications at the club, and José Luis Caminero.
Torres arrived at the Calderón at 15:25 with great expectations. He did not train today but did a double session yesterday. When he appeared in his seat just before the start of the match the Calderón broke into applause, giving him a standing ovation and chants that have accompanied him throughout his career.
