Colombia President Juan Manuel Santos is keeping his fingers crossed that Real Madrid player James Rodríguez, who underwent surgery in Murcia today, makes a full and rapid recovery.
On his personal Twitter account, Juan Manuel Santos, a huge football fan, wished James “all the very best” with his operation and added that “47 million Colombians are wishing you a speedy recovery”, including the hashtag #FuerzaJames (Be strong James).
James will be sidelined for at least two months after suffering a fracture to his fifth metatarsal bone not long after hitting the opener in last night’s game against Sevilla.
He will miss a number of games at club level with Real Madrid, but James should be back fighting fit again for Colombia’s participation in the 2015 Copa América in Chile from 11 June until 4 July.
