Cristiano Ronaldo was replaced by James Rodríguez at half time during the Spanish Supercopa first leg in the Bernabéu, causing a flurry of concern around the stadium. The Portugal captain didn't appear to be in any discomfort during the opening 45 minutes although he wasn't as influential as is his norm either.
A Real Madrid communiqué said that Ronaldo had experienced discomfort in his left leg, which caused him to miss the second half. Real manager Carlo Ancelotti said in his post-match press conference that it didn't appear the number 7 had suffered any serious injury and that tests would be carried out on Wednesday to determine the source of the problem.
