"We have the weapons to stop Cristiano and Madrid"

Sevilla goalkeeper Beto, the hero of the Europa League final, discussed the Super Cup final in Cardiff, and the team's unfortunate delay in reaching Wales.

- How is the team after the delay in reaching Cardiff?

"We arrived in good spirits; we are travelling to a final. It makes no difference what time you get there if you're going to play in something as beautiful as the Super Cup."

- Are you ready for penalties?

"Having to decide the [Europa League] game like that, from the spot, could have gone either way but luckily it went ours."

- What do you expect from the game?

"To enjoy it to the full, it took us a lot of work to get here. It will be the culmination of last season's work. For us it is something unique. It's the icing on the cake of last season."

- Cristiano has arrived with little fanfare. Does he intimidate anyway?

"Cristiano is the best player in the world; he doesn't need two months of pre-season. Intimidate? More than that we respect him, we know him well. But we have our weapons collectively to stop not only Cristiano, but Madrid as well."

- Does counterattack always win?

"No two games are the same. Madrid will always be the favourite and the odds favour them, but as we have beaten them before we believe we can do it again."

- Has Bale's adaptation at Real surprised you?

"No, because as well as being a great footballer he is a great athlete. He has adapted quickly because of the way Madrid play and the way he plays. It was a perfect move for him."
