The interesting image from the match between Villarreal and Real Madrid was not on the pitch. As revealed before the match, a plane with a banner reading 'Come Home Ronaldo – United Reel' circled Villarreal’s El Madrigal stadium as organised by a fans’ group.
United have not hidden their interest in taking Cristiano Ronaldo back to Old Trafford. Even manager Louis van Gaal has acknowledged the possibility this season, saying that he doesn’t know how much money they would need to carry the deal out.
Just in case, United fans are trying their own methods to attract him with a move back to Old Trafford. It is unknown whether Ronaldo saw the banner from the pitch.
