Faced with the possibility of life on the bench when Luis Suárez is cleared to play for Barcelona, rumours surrounding the future of Spain international forward Pedro Rodríguez have started to surface. Italian website Tuttomercatoweb.com has taken the lead by reporting interest in Turin for the World Cup-winner's services. Juventus are apparently lining up a January bid for Pedro as a priority signing. Initially it seemed that the Old Lady was planning to lure Juan Mata from Old Trafford but that door has apparently been closed by the Manchester United board. As Mata and Pedro are similar players Juventus are hopeful that Luis Enrique may be more open to negotiations over a potential transfer.
Reports in various media in England also state that Liverpool will challenge Juventus for the forward's signature. Brendan Rodgers' side has not started the season as they would have liked and see Pedro as the answer to a lack of definition in front of goal that has afflicted the side in the early Premier League exchanges despite the summer addition of Italy striker Mario Balotelli. Liverpool lost at Anfield last weekend 1-0 to Aston Villa.
