Neymar: “Madrid have a lot of quality apart from Bale”

He has played a pivotal part in Barcelona’s impressive start to the season and has forged a formidable partnership with Leo Messi, now Neymar is setting his sights on Ajax who visit Camp Nou in MatchDay 3 of the Champions League tomorrow.

Bouncing back after the defeat in Paris: “It’s going to be a tough match but we always go out to win. We have to do everything right to take three points of a quality opponent”.

This weekend’s Clásico: “We’re not thinking about that yet. First we must focus on the Champions League and after that we can start thinking about Real Madrid. I think we’re in for a great game against Ajax”.

Are we now seeing the real Neymar? “I don’t know whether it’s a new version of the player I was but I feel perfectly at home now, I’m happy and that shows out on the pitch. Everything has helped in making me improve – the coach, my team mates... when everything comes together, it all starts turning out as it should. I’m not sure what has changed – maybe my understanding with the rest of the team; I’m really enjoying my game now”.

Luis Suárez ban coming to an end: “The three of us will be able to do a lot of things together. Leo is the best player in the world and adding Luis Suárez will allow Barça to achieve great things. He’ll bring a lot to the side. The Chiellini incident is now all in the past”.

Being substituted: “It doesn’t bother me at all and I can understand Leo who is on the brink of making history. As a fan of his, I’m right beside him. It’s part of the game – every player wants to remain on the pitch and not get taken off”.

Ajax: “We know all about them – their strengths and their weaknesses. I just hope we see a great game; I’d like to get on the score sheet tomorrow and at the Bernabéu”.

Bale may miss ‘El Clásico’ “He has a great deal of quality but even if he doesn’t play, Real Madrid have quality right the way through the side”.
