The paper published its team of 2014 today – a line-up which included members of the Madrid side which won ‘La Décima’ and the Germany team which lifted the World Cup in Brazil.
Four players from Madrid’s Champions League-winning team are included: Cristiano, Sergio Ramos, Di María and Xabi Alonso and four members of Joachim Löw’s Germany: Neuer, Lahm, Hummels and Toni Kroos.
Completing L’Équipe’s Team of 2014 are Barcelona pair Leo Messi and Neymar together with Bayern left-back David Alaba.
