David Moyes: "It could have been worse"

Scottish coach, David Moyes spoke to the assembled media last night in the press room of the El Madrigal stadium after his team had been resolutely beaten 4-0 by Villarreal. Moyes stated that his team made many errors mainly in defense.

The scoreline: “It could have been worse. We made too many mistakes, especially in defense. We need to acknowledge that Villarreal were better than us and deserved to win the game

The evolution of the game: “In the first 20 minutes of the first half we were the better team, though that is not enough. We knew we were coming to play a strong team in a difficult place to get points”.

Attitude: "It was excellent. The players worked really hard and the most disappointing thing was when we had the ball. We couldn’t retain possession and weren’t able to get any fluidity in our play. We need to play at a better level”.

Signings in the winter market: “We are still analyzing the squad. It’s too soon to say if we need to bring in players during the transfer window”.
