Madrid could close a deal for Lucas Silva on Monday

The deal taking Lucas Silca to Real Madrid could be completed on Monday. Tomorrow, Cruzeiro, the Brazilian champions, will play their last game of the year against Fluminense at Mineirao. After the game, the players will go on their holidays (they have a month off) and that would allow time for Lucas Silva to find out where he will start 2015: Real Madrid or with his current club.

Those in Brazil believe he will go to Madrid. The European champions have offered €12 million but Cruzeiro are asking for €15 million, an easy fix. Ancelotti has ruled out any January signings and that means it may be better for the youngster to wait for six months and play in the Copa Libertadores, continue to grow and become more mature ahead of a move to the Spanish capital. With this time, he could better prepare for his move to Madrid and study the language.

It is not the first time that Spanish football has tempted the midfielder. Barça have already shown interest in him. They even sent a team to follow his progress and see if he would fit the club’s playing style. Barça made no offer and now Madrid are going ahead with the signing.
