“Merry Christmas!" from the Real Madrid squad

Real Madrid’s players wished fans a Merry Christmas in personal pre-recorded messages filmed back on 17 December by the club’s television channel. The traditional Christmas lunch was held on the same day and afterwards, players paired up to record their greetings in the Bernabéu VIP suite. Close friends Cristiano and Coentrao filmed theirs together: “Happy Christmas and Happy New Year for you and your families,” said Cristiano; Coentrao was more succinct, saying simply “Happy New Year!”.

The practically inseparable Gareth Bale and Luka Modric took their turn with the Croatian midfielder wishing a Merry Christmas and sending “a big hug” to all. Marcelo, who appeared next to Dani Carvajal, said: “Happy 2015 to everybody, I wish you a lot of peace, good health and love”.
