"We all get on with the boss and Messi doesn’t want to leave"

Sergio Busquets faced the media after Tuesday’s session at the Ciutat Esportiva. The player feels that there is a more harmonious atmosphere within the Barça camp now after a turbulent week.

The future: “We put in a good display in every aspect against Atlético – a very tough rivals. We knew that we couldn’t slip up. That win helped to ease the situation”.

The squad’s relationship with Luis Enrique: “We have a good relationship with him – one of maximum respect; we comply with the decisions he makes and for me, everything seems normal within the dressing room”.

Concern amongst the fans: “Debates usually provoke different reactions and people will always see things differently; some will take in what is said in the press, without trying to understand what is actually going on on the inside”.

Messi receiving different treatment to the rest: “Leo is a normal guy. He himself says that he is just another member of the squad

Barça’s irregular form: “If we knew how to, we would go out and win every game with ease. You have good days and bad days. We would like to our performances to be like the one we put in against Atlético but that’s just not possible. Against Real Sociedad, we started off losing and after that, they closed up at the back and even when we did create chances, the ball wouldn’t go in for us. Going ahead against Atleti made us feel more relaxed”.

Cristiano’s roar at the FIFA gala: “I’m sure that if Cristiano won, it was because he won fair and square but for me, the best is Messi”.

Barça’s ‘MSN’ attacking trio: “All three of them are great players who bring a lot to the team; they allow us to pressurize our opponents. They are three, world class superstars who are getting better with every game and that is fantastic for us”.

Criticism of your low level of form at the start of the campaign: “I’ve spent a long time at this club and if I was bothered about people say about me, I still wouldn’t be at Barça. There were rumours going around that I had an ongoing groin problem which I have proved wasn’t the case. It’s just something to fill the newspapers”.

Messi: “He is the only one who is control of his own future and for us, it’s important that he stays here. He used a phrase which you hear a lot in football – no one knows what lies ahead in the future, and he also said that he doesn’t want to leave”.
