Real Madrid's director of institutional relations, Emilio Butragueño, on Monday offered the club's version of events over allegations of wrongdoing in the signing of minors. Fifa has asked the Bernabéu to provide details of all such signings over the past five years. "Firstly, we are in agreement with Fifa on this matter," said Butragueño. "We will continue to work with them in every aspect they ask of us. We are absolutely relaxed about the procedure involving Real Madrid."
Beforehand, Butragueño welcomed new signing Lucas Silva to the club. "It is a pleasure to have Lucas Silva at the club. I would like to thank the president of Cruzeiro for making it easy for the player's dream come true." As he did during Martin Odegaard's presentation last week, Butragueño also laid on a eulogy for Silva: "Dear Lucas, you have been able to witness the excitement of the fans. They will show you their affection but they will expect the best from you. Here, the demands are enormous. We are convinced you have just opened a very successful period in your career. We are all very excited and it's a pleasure to have you here."
More signings?: "When we are conducting the presentation of a player, out of respect we don't talk about other matters. Thank you."
Signing Silva in the January window: "It was a good opportunity, given the circumstances. We think he is a player that can help the team a lot and that is why he is here."
