Borussia Dortmund manager Jürgen Klopp analyzed the club's current situation in an interview with Sport Bild, during which he said he was "convinced" that Marco Reus would not be leaving the Westfalenstadion at the end of the season. "I don't think any of our players will leave if we don't qualify for the Champions League next season." Furthermore, Klopp insinuated that if any of his squad did ask to leave it would be a huge personal disappointment: "I will have made a mistake with him."
Rumours of Reus' desire to leave Dortmund have been circulating for some time, although his agent, Dirk Hebel, insists that to date his client "has not signed an agreement with anyone." However, in December it emerged that Reus had been learning Spanish, according to Bild, and during Dortmund's training camp in La Manga this month the Germany international signed several Real Madrid shirts. According to his circle, Reus is expected to make a decision on his future in March.
Reus is under contract at the Westfalenstadion until 2017 and has a release clause of 25 million euros. The trend at Dortmund over the past couple of years does not support Klopp's stance: in 2013 star player Mario Götze jumped ship to Bayern Munich, and he was followed last season by prolific Polish striker Robert Lewandowski.
