Martin Odegaard will have to wait another week to make his debut for Real Madrid Castilla. The Norway international midfielder is expected to spend at least the rest of this season with the Segunda B youth side, unless Carlo Ancelotti decides to hand him a taste of first-team action. The 16-year-old will then join the senior side for pre-season and from there, the Italian has said, "we'll see."
However, Castilla coach Zinedine Zidane has not included Odegaard in the match day squad for Castilla's match against Trival Valderas on Sunday.
Odegaard joined Real Madrid on January 22 from Stromsgodsets in the Norwegian top flight but has had little time to train since then as he returned to Norway to bid farewell to his old team. On his return to joined the senior squad in training for the first time last Thursday and a day later trained with his Castilla teammates. Odegaard was inscribed at the Madrid Football Federation on Friday, which is a prerequisite of being able to play, and has all the necessary paperwork from Fifa in order.
