Rodríguez blasts Bale for intercepting scoring chance

After Cristiano Ronaldo gave teammate Gareth Bale a very public dressing down for not passing to him when he was better-positioned in matches against Valencia and Espanyol, on Saturday during Real's match against Real Sociedad it was James Rodríguez who complained that the Welshman was being too individualistic.

The incident occurred in the 40th minute with the score poised at 2-1. Real had launched a typical counter attack at the feet of Karim Benzema, who took advantage of La Real's off-balance defence to put himself through on goal. Instead of shooting, the France striker looked to play in Rodríguez on the other side of the box, who would have had an empty goal to aim at. Bale then picked up the ball bound for the Colombian, took a touch and fired his shot against a backpedalling defender. Rodríguez gave his teammate a baleful look and gesturing that Benzema's pass was clearly intended for him. The Bernabéu, as it did when Bale went it alone again at the expense of Ronaldo during the Espanyol match, booed the Welshman's avarice.

However, Bale made up for his miss by providing the assist for Benzema to make it 3-1.
