Iker Muniain was writhing in agony at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán on Saturday after a defensive action from Sevilla’s Éver Banega that caused him to fall awkwardly on his left leg. His knee went and he feared the worst. He was dizzy with pain and, in a panic, he did not want the Athletic Club doctor to examine him.
Then, in the dressing room, he was calmer and accompanied by his parents, and he received good news. He may have suffered a sprain, without rupturing or tearing anything.
He will be examined, with greater certainty, on Tuesday, but the feelings are good.
“Thanks for so much support,” he wrote on Twitter.
