Villarreal forward Joel Campbell insists that maintaining sixth place is of vital importance to the team although that doesn’t mean that the ‘Yellow Submarine’ shouldn’t aspire to finishing higher up the table.
Villarreal entertain Espanyol on Thursday and Campbell is expecting a difficult match. Every game from now until the final day will be tough because there is a lot at stake for all of us. Espanyol are in need of points after drawing on Monday”, he explained.
The Costa Rican stressed the importance of winning all of the remaining games at El Madrigal and locking down sixth place. As for the team’s recent goal drought, he says the goals will start flowing again soon. “I’m sure well be scoring freely again; the goals will come but what is important is that the team is creating chances. The team is united and although we couldn’t take all three points off Valencia, what mattered was taking a point from that game,” he said.
