Rayo Vallecano coach Paco Jémez says he’s not worried about Madrid repeating a nine-goal romp in Vallecas tonight when the two capital sides meet in the Week 30 fixture. The coach spoke to the press on the eve of the match.
Possibility of losing 9-1: Life would go on. I also ask myself another question: what if we win? It would be a bigger deal if we did that than Madrid putting nine past us and that is what we aim to do. We want to pressurize Madrid as much as we can. We won’t worry about the result. Nobody likes losing but that’s the furthest from my mind right now. We confront these kinds of matches as a bonus. We won’t be changing anything because our situation is more relaxed now. It’s a bonus for us because for another year, Real Madrid are visiting our stadium and it should be a party for all of our fans to celebrate.
It’s highly unlikely that they will put nine past us – it’s very difficult to gain a result like that. It involves two things coming together: a team with a great deal of impetus, desire and also for the opposing team to play badly. That’s not to say it couldn’t happen but a lot of things could happen. I’ll be going to bed thinking that my team will put in the better performance and will win. If Madrid give their best and beat I will congratulate them and look ahead to the next game.
Real Madrid: When they play with Modric, Isco and James, or with Bale, they play differently. They are all players with different characteristics. With James and Isco, they have more possession while with Bale they play with more power.
Arbeloa forcing a fifth booking: Everyone does it. Sometimes you can’t choose when players should follow the rules and other times you can and it’s perfectly legal. Every team does it. Busquets did it the other night.
Dream scenario: I only dream about one match – in which my team outplays Real Madrid. That’s my sole obsession and that’s the only thing that would make me happy.
