"I'm going to Atleti to show what I’m capable of"

Raúl Jiménez has told Mexican daily, ‘Récord’ that he is ready to triumph in Spain with Atlético de Madrid and is sure that he will fit in perfectly with the system Diego Simeone has set up.

“Atlético have great players who always give one hundred per cent. I am going to give everything I have got to fit into the side and earn my place. I am going to continue learning, give my best and show what I am made of,” Jiménez said today.

The 23-year-old is due to be presented before the end of this week in a dream, six-year move to join the Spanish champions. “I’ve mixed feelings – on the one hand it’s really painful to be leaving Club América but on the other hand, I’ll be joining one of the top clubs in Europe – the current league champions. I’ll give the best of myself to succeed at Atlético,” he added.

The player thanked América fans for their support over the past three seasons and says that he will return one day, after his European adventure. “Of course I am considering returning to América but in the future, they will always be my first option. To the club and the fans, I’d like to show my gratitude for all of their support during these past few years”.
