Iniesta receives the 2014 'Golden Foot' award in Monaco

Barcelona midfielder Andrés Iniesta has been named the winner of the ‘Golden Foot’ 2014, an award that honours the best footballers aged over 28.

The Barça No.8 was amongst the ten finalists for the award alongside Cristiano Ronaldo, Wayne Rooney, Manuel Neuer, Andrea Pirlo, Thiago Silva, Franck Ribery and former Barcelona players Yaya Toure and Thierry Henry, as well as Brazilian footballer Marta Vieira Da Silva.

Iniesta travelled to Monaco with Barcelona sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta, his wife, Anna Ortiz and his representative, Ramon Sostres.

After the gala, the midfielder will return to Barcelona and on Tuesday will rejoin the Barça squad along with the other players who were selected by Vicente del Bosque to play for Spain. Those are Gerard Pique, Marc Bartra, Jordi Alba, Sergio Busquets and Pedro Rodríguez.
