Luis Suárez: "I wish I had been able to develop at La Masia"

Luis Suárez will be on the cover of the forthcoming new edition of Barça’s official club magazine, which will hit the shelves in early November. In the magazine, the Uruguayan looks at his career from the beginning, right up to his arrival at the Camp Nou, where he will soon be able to play for the first time.

Currently, the only statements from the publication that have been made available have pertained to Suárez’s admiration for La Masia.

The former Liverpool striker said: “I’m impressed and amazed by the facilities, the spaces they have to develop the children in everything, in their studies, their diet and their schedules.

“I was surprised by everything, above all the way the children they have are. I wish I had had the opportunity to develop in this way.”

Suárez’s expected debut for Barcelona will be on Saturday 25 October, in a truly incredible setting – at the Santiago Bernabéu, in the first La Liga Clásico of the season against Real Madrid. His suspension, which was administered following his attempted bite on Chiellini at the World Cup in Brazil, will expire the day before the match and Barça boss Luis Enrique is expected to count on the Uruguayan for the blockbuster clash.
