Real Betis v Las Palmas: Top goalscorers go head to head

Sunday mid-day (1200 CET) sees league leaders Las Palmas take on a resurrected Real Betis side in Seville. Both the division’s top marksmen will be hoping to improve on their respective goal tallies with Araujo on eight goals one ahead of Castro.

The pressure will be on Russian coach Valeri Karpin at Marllotca’s Iberostar Stadium on Saturday as he has been told in no uncertain terms by the club management ”win, or else”... The team from the Balearic Islands are having a torrid season, currently propping the division with just two points and no league wins to date.

A tense atmosphere is expected in Gijon on Sunday prior to the Asturian club’s home game against Leganes, where fans are scheduled to hold a demonstration protesting about the current board of directors managing of the club’s financial affairs.
