Cristiano asks about the dimensions of Eibar’s pitch

Cristiano met up with the Eibar representatives at an award ceremony in Madrid. Gaizka Garitano (won the award for the best coach in Segunda) and Xabi Irureta (who won the Zamora award for the goalkeeper who conceded the least amount of goals last season). The Portuguese hit it off with these at the backstage area of the presentation and even with the Eibar vs. Real Madrid fixture being two weeks away (Saturday 22nd at 1800 CET), Cristiano was asking Garitano specific questions about the dimensions of the playing surface at the Eibar ground. “Wait until you see how tired I am then”, he joked with Xabi Irureta. “I have to play on Saturday and Tuesday”. The Madrid striker was referring to his involvement with the Portuguese squad and their game against Armenia in Faro and subsequent friendly against Messi’s Argentina at the home of his old club, Old Trafford (Manchester). His concern about Eibar’s ground is logical, Ipurua is 103x65 meters in size compared to the dimension of - 105x70 of the Bernabéu: five meters tighter, less space than he is accustomed to.
