Atlético de Madrid signing Fernando Torres was punctual for his appointment at the FREMAP Clinic in Majadahonda, arriving at 8:10 CET to undergo a routine medical revision before completing his switch back to the Rojiblancos. After leaving the clinic, the player told reporters, “Everything went well. I am looking forward to my first day back, seeing my team mates and starting training”.
After the first series of tests, Torres was subjected to another examination – the second half of his medical, a biomechanical revision at Las Rozas’ FREMAP Clinic. After passing the tests, the striker trained for the first time with his team mates under Diego Simeone’s orders in a session which was brought forward for the New Year. Torres had already undergone a physical workout supervised by ‘Profe’ Ortega at the Cerro de Espino stadium last night.
When asked about how his first session back had gone, Torres replied, “I’m taking it step by step; we have another couple of days to train and I cannot play in the first game of the New Year – all in good time”.
