"We’ve got a tough start to 2015 but we’re feeling confident”

Real Madrid began preparing for Tuesday’s Dubai Football Challenge meeting with AC Milan on Monday with Isco and Dani Carvajal attending the media in this morning’s pre-match press conference. The two spoke apart from coach Carlo Ancelotti and both agreed that tomorrow’s friendly will serve to get back in form ahead of a testing month in which Madrid could play eight matches in little over four weeks.

“This is the first time I’ve been in Dubai, I don’t know very much about it. I’ve no need to talk about AC Milan because we all know about their great history. We’re hoping to enjoy this game and prolong the good run we enjoyed at the tail end of this year. We know that we are in for a difficult month – January’s fixture list looks very complicated but we have faith that we can continue our winning streak into 2015,” the midfielder said, adding that he is proud that the Madrid shirt now bears the FIFA Club World Cup insignia: “It’s a real thrill to be able to wear it; it’s recognition of all of the hard wrk it took to win it and we will wear it with pride”.

Dani Carvajal is sure that tomorrow’s game will be an enjoyable one for those in the Sevens stadium and agreed that it will help the team ease back into their rhythm ahead of the first outing of the New Year at Mestalla. “We’re normally resting and coming to the end of our Christmas holidays at this time of year but this game is ideal to help us prepare for a month of very tough matches. It’s going to be special – a match between the two clubs who have the most European Cups in the world, two sides who play exciting, attractive football – we hope it’s an entertaining and enjoyable night for everyone who comes along to watch”.
