Mario: "They all know that Atlético will be a tough rival"

Mario Suárez, the Atlético Madrid midfielder, said on Tuesday that his team produced “a great match” against Juventus in their final Champions League group stage fixture. The 0-0 in Turin allowed Atlético to finish as group winners in Group A and Suárez stressed that the team is “in a great moment” and on an “ascending line”.

“We must continue along this line, from game to game, and we will continue like so,” he explained on Canal Plus following the match in Turin.

The midfielder also discussed the forthcoming last 16 draw, which will take place next Monday.

“In the last 16 of the Champions League there are the best teams in Europe and it will be difficult either way, but they also know that Atlético Madrid are going to be a very tough opponent," he said.

Suárez, who started against Juventus, also said: “I always work to play, the coach is the one who decides, today he decided to go for me and I always work to help the team.”
