Nuno: "I’m hacked off, we didn’t deserve to lose the game"

What are your overall sensations after the game?

We lost the match in the last seconds of the match. We didn’t deserve to lose. We could have scored in the second half.

An almost perfect defensive performance?

We were well organized. We were well aware of the quality of the opposition.

You seem to be annoyed.

I’m very hacked off. The players too. And just before you decide to ask the question, yes, we have now lost two games back to back.

What did you ask the referee after the game?

I approached him on two occasions, about André in the first half and then about the goal that was scored with time up. He decided that Barcelona should take the corner with the time up. We shouldn’t let Barcelona take short corners and on this occasion we let them.

Did Peter Lim say anything to you in the dressing room?

They feel it too. When they hug the players, they show respect and admiration, we battled hard. We set out to win the game. Yes, he popped in before the game and wished us well. He asked us to give our all and we did so.

What’s your view on what happened in the surroundings of the Calderón?

It only happens between those who don’t love this sport. Supporters should respect one another. My condolences go out to the family.

Parejo asked to be changed?

Yes, he was suffering from cramp He ran his socks off, as did the whole team. I’m very proud of my players. In good times I’m euphoric, in the sad times too.
