"There will be no more 'Riazor Blues' in Riazor"

Deportivo de La Coruña’s, president, Tino Fernández, confirmed that there would be no more members of the ‘Riazor Blues' ultra group in his club’s ground and denied that the club did not pay for any of the tickets that Depor received from Atlético Madrid for last Sunday’s game which was overshadowed by the death of a Deportivo ultra before the game.

"I’m sure that there will be no more 'Riazor Blues' in Riazor. Our first measure is to close the stand where the 'Riazor Blues' group assemble for the next two matches. This is our first step as part of an ongoing process", added Fernández during the 'Al Primer Toque' show on Onda Cero radio.

"On Saturday we want to convert our league game into a peaceful protest against football violence", commented the club president, who also added that it was his interest to eliminate this group from the stand. "At present we have yet to receive any documentation or names of any of these individuals who were involved", he continued.

Fernández was asked about Atlético Madrid’s proposal to expel the Frente Atlético from the Vicente Calderón. "I’ve yet to see the communique from Atlético, but if that’s the case its distinctive to our situation as 'Riazor Blues' are not even recognised as an official supporters group", he said.

"Our task is to take action against people who we have yet to be informed of who they are. We have yet to receive any documentation. I’ve requested the names of the 91 people who traveled to Madrid and it’s yet to be submitted”, concluded the president.
