Ancelotti confirms that Keylor Navas will play more matches

Ancelotti told AS in a press conference that despite Madrid being knocked out of the Copa del Rey, Keylor Navas will be given more playing time between now and the end of the season. “We’re not in the cup but Keylor will play more games,” the Italian trainer said. The Costa Rican was the Real's first-choice Copa del Rey keeper but failed to produce any standout performances against Los Rojiblancos. Despite being mistake-free in both legs, he failed to make any game-changing saves. In fact, in both the Calderón and the Bernabéu, Atlético’s two shots on goal resulted in two goals conceded: that's four goals in four attempts.

Keylor has conceded seven goals in seven official matches played this season (one per game), making a total of ten saves (1.4 per game). Ten stops and seven goals conceded. This season, Casillas has made 49 stops (39 in La Liga and 10 in the Champions League) and has let in a total of 15 goals (13 in La Liga and two in Europe), with an average of 3.2 saves between goals, more than double the number saved by Keylor.
