Diego Simeone's son, Giovanni Simeone, has said in an interview with Italian daily La Gazzetta dello Sport that his father has a special place in his heart for Serie A and, in particular, Inter Milan. "My father could go back to Italy, to Inter. He holds the club in his heart and he loves them. When he finished at Atlético he could go back to Inter. Right now he's happy in Madrid but he has a special sentiment for all his former clubs."
"El Cholito," as Giovanni is known in Italy, plays for River Plate and is currently at the under-20 World Championships with Argentina, where he is the tournament top scorer with seven goals. He told La Gazzetta that he speaks to El Cholo after every match he plays and described what it's like to have a coach for a father. "We talk for 20 minutes or so after every game. It depends on how I've played whether he yells at me or not. We always speak about attitude. He tells me I have to do my best for the team and he tells me to study players like Falcao or Batistuta."
