FIFA gala holds no allure for Luis Enrique: “I didn’t see it”

Luis Enrique attended the media in Wednesday’s press conference and spoke about tomorrow’s Copa del Rey return leg at Elche as well as other topics concerning current affairs at the club.

Elche: Even though the tie is practically decided, we are preparing for it as we always do. We have been studying ways in which we can punish our opponents because we will be going there with the intention of winning as always.

Giving reserve team players a run-out: There will be quite a few B team players in the side tomorrow. We’ll take advantage of the circumstances to take a look at them. There won’t be that many because the regulation state that we can only field four in the starting XI; nor do we want to run unnecessary risks.

Do you think Messi can win what would be his fifth Ballon d’Or with Barça? I don’t know what the future holds

Bakero in line for Technical Secretary post: We were together at the same time as players with Barça and the national team and I hold him in very high regard but that’s an issue you need to put to the board.

Unity in the dressing room: Bartomeu is right. We should ignore all of the problems, rumours and comments. We’re looking to create the best climate possible on the inside. We already know that on the outside things change within five seconds.

Crossing paths with Madrid or Atlético in the next round: It’s great that the three theoretically strongest sides will meet in the quarter finals – it’s gives more of a chance to the rest of the teams.

FIFA Ballon d’Or gala: Unfortunately I didn’t watch it.

Do you think Messi will be at the gala this time next year? I’m not going to start fanning the flame and creating problems. You lot seem quite keen on parties, I’m not so keen myself.

Neymar and Giménez’s studs-first challenge: “The challenge on Neymar was brutal, but that's football. We're waiting for him to get the all-clear. It’s not that serious; I'm sure he'll be fine

Possibility of Messi moving on at the end of the season: I’m only focused on doing my job with the team this season and seeing how far we get. If the player himself has said that he wants to stay he for many more years to come, who am I to say otherwise? I believe him. Everybody has said that Leo is going to remain at Barça for many years, and that's what every culé wants
