FC Barcelona trained early on Wednesday in their final session before tomorrow’s Copa del Rey return leg against Elche at the Martínez Valero; the Catalans go into the game with a 5-0 advantage from last week’s first leg and look certain to advance to the quarter finals where they will meet either Atlético or Real Madrid.
Xavi Hernández and Neymar both missed Wednesday’s session but the coach drafted six players from the reserve team to make up the numbers. Luis Enrique will announce his list on the day of the game but hinted in today’s press conference that neither Xavi nor Neymar will be included in his squad list. Both players continue with their respective recovery programmes and are aiming to be delclared fit for Sunday’s league meeting with Deportivo.
Wednesday’s session took place on the Tito Vilanova pitch at the Cuitat Esportiva Joan Gamper. Munir, Halilovic and Adama trained with the senior players for the second time this week and were joined by fellow B team players: Gumbau, Samper and Edgar le – some of whom are likely to get minutes against Elche.
