"We must defend the trophy!” urges Casillas

Iker Casillas sent a message of optimism and unity to Real Madrid fans ahead of Thursday’s Copa del Rey Round of 16 return leg against city rivals Atlético. The keeper says the players are confident they can turn around the two-goal deficit from the first leg at the Bernabéu and wants supporters to believe the team can make the quarter finals too.

“Final session ahead of the Cup derby,” Casillas wrote on his social network site. “We’re really up for this and the mood amongst the squad is good. We must defend the trophy!”

Thursday’s game looks like being a sell-out and like Casillas, Arbeloa has sent his message of support for Ancelotti’s team. “Injury means I won’t be able to play tomorrow so on this occasion I will be one more in the crowd egging the team on to victory. Let’s do it!” the defender wrote.
