According to ‘El Ideal’ and ‘La Voz de Almería’, the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) and FIFA want to deduct three points from Almería in the Liga BBVA and fine the club 2,000 euros.
The deduction could be applied over the club’s dealings in the transfer market and the signing of Michael Jakobsen in July 2010 from Danish club Aalborg. Allegedly, the Andalusian club didn’t honour a payment of 60,000 euros for the player. According to club sources, the amount had been paid, even though a lawsuit from the Danish club shows otherwise.
In FIFA’s opinion, Almería have not fulfilled their financial obligations and have been warned on numerous occasions. Weeks before, the RFEF was notified by FIFA and subsequently informed the club from Spain’s top flight.
