Damage caused to Celta bus on its arrival at Riazor

Several bottles of beer hit the Celta Vigo bus on its arrival at Riazor for tonight’s Galician derby between Deportivo La Coruña and Celta Vigo.

The bus arrived at the stadium under escort by police, who also provided a security cordon in front of the main entrance to the stadium to distance the fans. However, some bottles of beer still managed to hit the bus, smashing one of the windows.

Just minutes after the Celta bus arrived the Depor coach followed it and was greeted by chants of encouragement and flares as around 4,000 supporters awaited their team. The biggest game in Galician football was not declared as ‘high risk’ by the Anti-Violence Committee.
