Real Madrid target Danilo has broken off negotiations to renew his contract with Porto, Portuguese daily ‘A Bola’ claims. The Brazilian had been involved in talks with the club to extend his current contract, which expires in June 2016, by a further year until 2017. But the player has ordered his agent to stall talks after hearing of the interest from Real Madrid, Barça and both of the Manchester clubs. ‘A Bola’ report that Porto are keen to convince the player to sign an extension on the condition he reduces the escape clause which currently stands at 50 million euros (Danilo joined Porto for 13 million from Santos in 2011).
As of the moment, Danilo is refusing to budge. Madrid have informed Porto of their interest in the defender and are willing to fight off competition to land him. AS reported on Saturday that one of the player’s representatives was in Madrid last week to sound out a possible move to the Bernabéu.
