Real Madrid could play a friendly in Romania in August

Real Madrid could play a summer friendly in Romania this year, according to Gazeta Sportulior . Initial plans are for Madrid to play a pre-season match in Bucharest against the Romanian national team but the biggest problem is cementing a date. Madrid may have to play against a combined team of players from the Romanian league. The date of the match has been set for either August 1 or 11.

Adrian Thiess, who already set-up a similar match between Barcelona and Dynamo Bucharest, is organizing the game and confirmed it has the approval of the Romanian Football Federation. “We had an initial meetings we have been given the go-ahead to organise the match in Bucharest. The biggest problem we have at the moment is the date because the calendar only leaves a few options available. We’ll see what happens, but there are many options.”

Madrid have already planned summer tours of China and Australia, where they will play in the Guinness World Football Challenge. The confirmed matches so far are against Roma (July 18) and Manchester City (July 24) in Australian. A friendly match in Algeria is also being lined up.
