Atlético de Madrid are prepared to battle it out with some of Europe’s top clubs to land Palermo’s prized centre-forward Paulo Dybala, one of the most promising emerging young players on the continent. Palermo President Mauricio Zamparini recently told ‘Tuttosport’ that his idea is to capitalise on the interest the 21-year-old striker has generated and sell him by the end of this month.
Gustavo Mascardi, who works side by side with the player’s agent Pierpaolo Triulzi, has been acting as an intermediary for Palermo while the club seeks an outlet for Dybala. Mascardi arrived in Madrid last night and is due to meet with Atlético officials, including José Luis Caminero Andrea Berta today.
Palermo confirmed that they have received a formal offer from Juventus for Dybala but other clubs have stated an interest including Roma, Inter Milan, Chelsea, Arsenal and PSG.
Juve are not willing to wait any longer and have tabled an offer of 32 million euros but have been told that the striker won’t be sold for a figure less than 40 million. Mascardi is sounding out other alternatives and will relay new back to Zamparini and above all else, to the player who is keen to play Champions League football in the next stage of his career.
